Jerry Beck is a writer, animation producer, college professor and author of more than 15 books on animation history. He is a former studio exec with Nickelodeon Movies and Disney, and has written for The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. He has curated cartoons for DVD and blu-ray compilations and has lent his expertise to dozens of bonus documentaries and audio commentaries on such. Beck is currently on the faculty of Cal Arts in Valencia, UCLA in Westwood and Woodbury University in Burbank – teaching animation history. Cory Toomey, character designer for the Ed boys was this weeks guest. Cory is the owner of Destroyers of Sleep, a dope apparel company that gets kids into drawing and wanting to wear rad clothing. He also runs the Dawn of the Ed instagram page (links below). Not only is he all of those things, but he was a really cool dude that worked on quite a few outstanding projects during his career. Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and PBS Executive Linda Simensky

It's safe to say without Linda Simensky, that we wouldn't have the level of animation that we have today. With shows like Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Rocko's Modern Life, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Rugrats, Doug, Ren and Stimpy and as well as so many more. Well, we might still have those shows, but they wouldn't be the outstanding cartoons and spectacular animation that we know and love today. She fostered a playground for these creators to work in that exuded the best material during the animation renaissance from the early 90's until now. The aforementioned creators of the shows up above know just how hard Mrs. Simensky worked and went to bat for them on a regular basis.
